Whitney M. Young, Jr.
Service Award Luncheon
Established by the Boy Scouts of America the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award recognizes outstanding services by an individual or organization for demonstrated involvement in the development of opportunities for youth from urban or rural backgrounds—this is in fulfillment of Dr. Young’s dream of justice and equality for all.
For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has led the nation in providing citizenship training for American youth. Through the years, Scouting has provided young people with character-development programs based on values found in the Scout Oath: duty to country, duty to others and duty to self.
